I am just going to bring it down a notch from the member for Caulfield, because that was a very horrific contribution. I rise to speak on the motion, and let us be clear: this is a stunt, not a serious motion, as the Deputy Premier previously said. The government opposes this motion. After six leaders in seven years, the opposition is in no position to lecture this government about confidence. While the state Labor government is helping working families, the Liberal Party are planning their $40 billion worth of budget cuts. While they pull stunt motions and waste taxpayers time in here, wasting the time of this house, this government is getting on with delivering for Victorians.

I would like to take a moment just to talk about what the Labor government on this side is delivering for the community of Ripon. It is a big, long laundry list, and I really do not have time in my contribution today to share everything that we have done in the electorate of Ripon in our 12 years in government, but it is huge. Even just in the last 3½ years in my time as the member for Ripon, we have seen extraordinary delivery in the electorate of Ripon. In the community of Ararat –

Martha HAYLETT: As I was saying, this government is getting on with delivering for Victorians, and we are delivering for the people of Ripon. In the amazing community of Ararat we have added eight new weekend services to the Ararat line, including a late-night service on weekends. We have secured $9 million for upgrades at Ararat 800 Primary School; $4.6 million for upgrades at Ararat College; a $2 million upgrade of Marian College; a $2 million upgrade of St Mary’s Primary School; over $1 million to upgrade Ararat North Primary School; over $340,000 for new student toilets at Ararat West Primary School; over $500,000 for upgraded sport courts and ovals at Ararat 800 Primary School; a new kinder coming onsite at Ararat West Primary School; over $700,000 to upgrade the Jack & Jill Kindergarten, which is looking beautiful, and that work is now complete; 30 hours of free four-year-old kinder across Ararat; over $10 million to upgrade Ararat hospital, including expanded theatre, radiology and pathology services and a new CT scanner and prac lab for healthcare trainees; over $1.6 million to expand the Budja Budja Aboriginal Cooperative medical clinic; an upgraded Ararat ambulance station; MICA paramedics delivered for Ararat; new Optus and Telstra mobile towers and broadband upgrades for Ararat; a brand new fire station; $15 million to expand the East Grampians water pipeline; over 40 new social housing properties built in Ararat; 25 new homes for key workers in Ararat; over $1.4 million for more local mental health services through One Red Tree Resource Centre; a new Islamic cultural centre for Ararat; a new sports pavilion at Gordon Street reserve; a new off-leash dog park coming to Centenary Park; and $600,000 for pedestrian safety upgrades around Ararat.

When those opposite talk about how this government does not deliver for the regions, I find that personally completely offensive, and incorrect. There is no government that has delivered more for regional and rural Victoria than our amazing state Labor government. That is really just one community of the over 100 in Ripon. I could talk about our beautiful smaller communities: upgrades to the Redbank hall, upgrades to the Raglan hall, upgrades to the Barkly hall, $150,000 for a new big fill unit for the Amphitheatre CFA, maintenance upgrades at Amphitheatre Primary School, reduced speeds to 60 kilometres on Trawalla Road and Langi Kal Kal Road, a new NBN broadband tower in Waterloo, a brand new CFA station and ultra-heavy tanker for Natte Yallock and upgrades to the Natte Yallock community hub. There is so much; our record of delivery is truly phenomenal.

I am going to share a little bit more. For the beautiful community of Ross Creek: the $11.1 million upgrade of Woady Yaloak Primary School, including the Ross Creek campus; $450,000 to upgrade the Ross Creek Recreation Reserve; an upgraded intersection at Lacys Road and Sebastopol-Smythesdale Road; a new field command vehicle for the local CFA brigade; upgrades to Haddon Primary School, the expansion of Haddon Preschool Centre – the list goes on. It is a huge list. We have delivered incredible things in our time in government.

While we have delivered so much, those opposite have had six leaders in seven years. They have been completely focused on themselves and focused on what they are going to cut if they get into government – the $40 billion worth of cuts that they are planning. They have not been secret about it; they have told us. It is truly scary to think what would come if they get their hands on government come November. I truly hope that that does not happen. I have full confidence in this government; I know the people of Ripon do. We will continue to get on with it while they continue to be a rabble.
