The Allan Labor Government is making sure Victorian students are learning in modern schools.

Member for Ripon Martha Haylett yesterday announced that Landsborough Primary School and Ararat North Primary School will benefit from an over 1-million-dollar (Ararat North) and an over $400,000 (Landsborough Primary School) investment for maintenance works.

The school will share in $35.077 million from the Planned Maintenance Program (PMP), thanks to investment from the Labor Government.

Practical improvements for the Ararat will address the outcomes of the Rolling Facilities Evaluation and the funds will also be used to complete drainage works, resurfacing works, roof works and switchboard works. The over $400,000 boost for Landsborough Primary School will be used for clean down works, roof works and repainting works.

These mean high-quality spaces for principals, teachers and staff and better learning experiences for students.

Funding for school maintenance has increased by six-fold under Labor.

The Liberals and Nationals slashed $1 billion from the education budget when they were last in power.

They let public schools crumble and decay, abandoning Victorian school communities.

In stark contrast, Labor has made a record $18.5 billion investment in our public schools.

Labor’s record investment has seen 121 new public schools delivered and more than 2,300 school upgrades.
