The Allan Labor Government is boosting the outstanding work Landcare and environmental volunteer groups do to help protect and enhance our land and waterways through the 2025 Landcare Grants.

Member for Ripon Martha Haylett today congratulated the local groups – with 11 groups across Ripon sharing in more than $150,000, plus 17 groups each receiving a $500 support grant, with each funded project making a difference to enhance and protect our great outdoors.

This year $3.6 million in grants will support 509 Landcare and environmental volunteer groups across the state, helping fund on-ground works, community education and engagement activities, group development, and small grants supporting administrative functions, including insurance, incorporation and operational costs.

Landcare grants deliver lasting benefits to the environment, the funding will help Landcare groups restore and protect vital habitats and waterways, and grow strong, connected communities that will continue to care for the land for generations to come.

Projects across Ripon include $20,000 for the Buloke and Northern Grampians Landcare Network to progress their Windharp Horizons program – aimed at increasing community capacity and capability, as well as more than $19,000 for the Mt Korong Eco-Watch Association Incorporated to help tackle African Lovegrass on Little Mount, plus so much more.

“Landcare is more than just planting trees and removing weeds. It's about communities working together to improve our environment and enjoying the great outdoors while they're at it."

“I’m thrilled so many of our region's hardworking Landcare groups have shared in the latest round of funding – we will see the benefits of this support for decades to come.”
