The Allan Labor Government is making sure every Victorian student has access to a world-class learning environment close to home – with better facilities on the way for students at Ararat College.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Education Ben Carroll today visited Ararat College with Member for Ripon Martha Haylett to turn the sod on the rebuild of Building C at the school on Barkly Street in Ararat.
Better school facilities help students learn better and the new Building C will include new general-purpose classrooms, student toilets, locker bays, wellbeing spaces, and staff workspaces, as well as new landscaping works.
This new building will ensure students at the school thrive in modern purpose built facilities with heating and air conditioning allowing them to fully focus on their education.
The Labor Government allocated $4.6 million in the Victorian Budget 2023/24 for the project, which will give students the amenities they need and deserve.
Building will start shortly and is forecast to be completed by term 3, 2026.
The Labor Government is investing in the Education State so every student can access a great local school and a quality education no matter where they live.
The Government has invested a record $18.5 billion over the past 11 years to build new schools and deliver more than 2,300 school upgrades − supporting more than 30,000 jobs in construction and associated industries.
